The Saudi National Bank Hands Over the First Batch of the Second Phase of Housing Units, Coinciding with World Habitat Day

115 families have benefited from the largest charitable developmental housing initiative led by the private sector


In line with World Habitat Day, the Saudi National Bank and the Developmental Housing Program celebrated the delivery of the first batch of residential units to 115 families as part of the Bank's social responsibility initiatives. The second phase represents the Bank's responsibility to provide 300 completed housing units to the families most in need of support in various cities and regions in the Kingdom. This comes as a continuation of the achievements made in the first phase, which included the distribution of 500 housing units in 26 cities in Saudi Arabia. Subsequently, these two phases are the largest development housing initiatives ever led by the private sector.

The ceremony, which was organized by SNB to handover the first batch of the second phase of the imitative, was attended by the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, His Excellency Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Chairman of SNB, Mr. Ammar Alkhudairy, Managing Director and CEO of SNB, Mr. Saeed Al Ghamdi, and a number of officials from the Ministry and the Bank, under the umbrella of the community development initiatives adopted by the Bank to serve the community. All initiatives aim to provide a decent life for citizens to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

H.E. Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, pointed out that the delivery of the first batch of the second phase of housing units is a success for the effective partnership between the Ministry and various national institutions, which contributed to providing thousands of housing units to the families most in need of support and providing suitable housing for Saudi families. The Minister expressed his thanks to SNB Chairman and all the employees for their efforts.

His Excellency explained that the Housing Developmental Program, through its multiple initiatives plays a key role in its effective partnership with the private sector and various charity agencies throughout the Kingdom. This is in part to accomplish the goals of the Housing Program, to achieve a 70% housing rate by 2030, which is a major goal of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Mr. Ammar Alkhudairy, Chairman of SNB, stated that the first batch of the second phase of housing units comes as a continuation of the qualitative initiative launched by the Bank in an attempt to support government efforts to provide suitable housing for Saudi families, in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030. This comes as a follow-up to the first phase achievements, which included the distribution of 500 residential units.

He noted the Bank's keenness to strengthen its partnership with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the Housing Developmental Program, which is one of the main pillars of sustainable development programs in the Kingdom. He also takes note that the first batch of the second phase of housing units' delivery included 115 families in four cities across the Kingdom, and was distributed in Aflaj, Majmaah, Buraidah and Najran.
